What is the difference between the Xteink X3 and X4?

The X4 has the larger 4.3-inch E Ink screen and charges over standard USB-C; the X3 is smaller (3.7-inch, 58 g) and charges through a proprietary magnetic pogo-pin cable. Neither has a front light or a touchscreen; those arrived with the X4 Pro. The X3 is $69 (list $79) and is the button-only model you can buy. The original X4 is discontinued (last official price $69).

Which Xteink has a front light?

Only the Xteink X4 Pro ($99), launched July 21, 2026. It is the first pocket Xteink with an adjustable warm/cool front light and a touchscreen. The X3, X4 Classic, and discontinued X4 have none.

Which is the smallest Xteink e-reader?

The X3 is a 3.7-inch, 259-PPI E Ink reader weighing 58 g, designed to ride on the back of your phone via magnets. The X4 and X4 Pro use a larger 4.3-inch screen.

Do any Xteink readers charge over USB-C?

Only the original X4, which is discontinued. The X3, X4 Classic, and X4 Pro all charge through a magnetic pogo-pin connector; the X4 Pro includes a magnetic adapter but no cable in the box. If plain USB-C is a hard requirement, look for a used X4. Do not treat the discontinued X4 as something you can order new.

Which Xteink should I buy?

For most people, the X3 at $69 if you want to flash, or the X4 Classic at $79 if you want a 4.3-inch page on stock firmware. Pick the X4 Pro at $99 if you read in the dark. The S4 is China-only. The original X4 is discontinued. The 30-second device chooser names one pick.
